Secondly, I live for your videos. I love how honest you are about running. I’m pretty sure it will be ringing in my head once the doc clears me for exercise. I want to start running. I hear it is the best exercise, next to swimming, that you can get. I can’t swim, but I can run.
I suggest you either get it in your head that somebody is chasing you or you’re chasing something. Oh and I work out to gospel music. Seriously, when I feel like giving up, I just imagine that I’m doing it for Jesus. You can’t get any more motivated than, “The Messiah wants me to!”

So. Bangsy. Remember how you “inspired” me to run this half marathon with you? Yeah. So. We need to have some words. *punches palm*

No, kidding. Actually, this morning I was thinking that I need to thank you for the motivation to do it. I am already into obsessive training mode too and actually (*cough*) ENJOYING it. Don’t get me wrong, running is not fun, but it does make me feel fantastic.

I don’t have a personal trainer but I do have the Royal Parks half marathon training schedule which I stick to religiously… and a boyfriend who used to do ultramarathons in his sleep looking at me smugly every morning. (He says he’s not smug, but I am not convinced).

I also went too hard too quickly and injured my back, resulting in a week of no running, which actually drove me MENTAL! Rather than relishing the time off, I was not happy about it at all. Plus I walked like a pensioner for a week.

I have some great “I WANNA RUN TO THIS SHIT!” music tracks I can suggest – (P to the S, you are allowed headphones on this half marathon. I checked. Which is great because it’s the only way I am going to make it) – so if you want a playlist, I’ll email you one. Or, do you have spotify?

Am impressed you’re on 5k already… my daily run is about 3.7km so you’re already way ahead of me.

Ah yes, side stitches. I battled those bishes for a while. You gotta stay hydrated. Also, you can’t start out too fast. When they happen, you can run through it. You may feel like you’re being stabbed repeatedly. Slow down, find a comfortable pace…you CAN run through it. It’s definitely more mental than physical.

I should do a blog post about what I’ve learned. I’ve been meaning to now for a while.
