Without sounding completely up my own ass, I've lived in 3 of the world's fashion capitals and trust me when I say, Toronto doesn't hold a candle to any of them. Not even close. If there was originality here, there wouldn't be so many shops (independent boutiques no less) carrying the same clothes. I wouldn't see multiple people in the same day wearing the same shit. There's a lack of options. And no offense, but NO ONE is complimenting Canada on its style. In fashion terms, it just doesn't even rank.
